A typical Kroeber clock in that it is different and a step above the competition. They added the Cadillac trim to set it apart from other makers. Glass pendulum, the use of a lot of burl veneer, and overall style. 44 inch walnut case with a generous amount of burl veneer at the top, base, and door facing. Top is carved, there are incised designs on the top, base and door. 8 day movement strikes a gong. Tablet with gold leafing, correct glass pendulum and gong, and the original head piece. Finials are always questionable. Clean and running. I would put a coat of "Nu-Life" on the wood, you may like the dry look best. The clock is pictured in the Kroeber catalog of 1874.
