"John Hunt, Farmington, Con". Ca1840-1846. Wood movement, 30 hour, weight, runs and runs. This case is a half round side, cornice top. A considerable number of these cases were used by C & N Jerome of Bristol. John Hunt was a cabinet maker and traded cases for movements. As you can tell the label is mostly intact except for a small piece at the bottom. Great old wood dial, weights, pendulum, key, hands. 23 inch mahogany veneer case is near perfect. Half rounds on the door are continuations of the rounded sides. Mirror looks old but afraid to say for sure if original. Escutcheon, key, and operational door lock.
