"Silas B. Terry, Horologist, Manufacturer of Clocks, Time Pieces and Regulators, Plymouth, CT" Ca 1836. Small paper label pasted onto a dust cover on the backboard. Round 8 day brass movement, by S. B. Terry, strikes on an iron bell. Original and correct wood dial, replaced lower glass. Period weights, hands, and pendulum. Two escutcheons, 1 working lock, 1 missing. 36 inch figured mahogany veneer case magnificently cleaned and polished. I see no veneer repairs. Round full length columns, carved capitals, OG trim top and base. Reference - This identical clock, movement, and label, are in the book, "The Contributions of Joseph Ives to Connecticut Clock Technology", by Kenneth D. Roberts, Revised Second Edition, pages 182 thru 188.
