Beautiful burl walnut case is 32 inches high. Constructed of black walnut and burl walnut The burl was used on the front flats. Complete with the original pendulum tie-down, both door locks, and original hands. The 8 day movement is signed "E .Howard & Co. Boston 59". It has the proper old iron weight for this model. 12 inch metal dial showing some age. Has very little wear, just dirty. If it has been repainted it was surely over 50 years ago. It would be most unusual for a Howard dial only 80 years old to have been repainted. The weight descends behind a full wood partition, while the pendulum hangs in front of the partition. Ly-American Clocks No.428.
