E. Howard "Figure Eight", or "Regulator No.7", ca 1997.
Another beautiful black walnut clock made by the country's leading clockmaker, Wayne Cline of Bowling Green, Kentucky. This case is 50 inches high and finished as well or better than the Howard reissued clocks of the 1970's. We have sold many of the reissued clocks and they all have new movements, weights, and pendulums. This clock has an original, signed, Howard & Davis, 8 day movement, which is time only and running. Pendulum is also original. You should have seen this fine collection of large Howard Regulators hanging in one Tennessee home. I must admit it was tempting to hang on to them as I will never be able to acquire a collection of the original Howard's.The weight was cast from a correct mold, signed properly, "2". Hands on all the contemporary clocks were made by a professional hand maker, and look exactly like the originals. Glasses were all painted by Tom Moberg, and dials all painted by The Dial House. The finest of brass hardware was used throughout. Case is signed, "Wayne Cline, C343397". Ly-American No.402.
