Ithaca Calendar Clock Co., Ithaca, N.Y., "No. 14 Granger", ca 1884.
Clean, almost new looking inside. Had to have lived in a house where no one smoked and coal wasn't burned. 25 inch walnut case is not as clean outside. Shows wear on the finish. I would like to think a little cleaning and polish would take care of the problem. A tip broken from the top.The movement is signed, "E. N. Welch Mfg. Co. Forrestville, CT U.S.A.". 8 day, strike, alarm and calendar, half hour and hour strike on a cathedral gong, alarms on an iron bell, running well. Alarm is in the base and is activated by a long wire from the time movement. Good clean dial board, original nickel pendulum. The excellent dial feels like it is made of lead, it is 19 inches high, 9 inches wide. Clock is all original except where noted. Ly-Calendar No.352-A. Millers "Calendar Clocks, page 48.
