Jerome & Co. hanging clock with an Estell Program.
Two labels on the back, both are about 75% there. They read in part; "Programme, Eight Day Pendulum Striking, For Schools", and "Estell's Program Clock, Schools". The program in the base of the case, can be set to strike the bell in the upper part of the case, at any 5 minute intervals, 9:05, 9:10, 9:35, 9:45. etc. Set one time and you don't have to set again, or you can change the program as needed. The beautiful refinished case is either rosewood or cherry, 31 inches high, with 2 carved leaves, attached between the two doors. Movement is Jerome's standard H shape, unsigned, striking a large brass bell as programmed. The Estill movement is connected to the strike lever on the time movement by a long wire. Excellent brass pendulum, wood stick, original top glass, old zinc dial pan with a new 11 1/2 inch paper dial. Bottom glass is an excellent repaint by Lee Davis, gold and black glass, held by wood strips. We sent Lee the old broken glass to use as a pattern, it is identical. This clock is almost perfect except where noted.
