Southern Calendar Clock Co., St. Louis, Mo. "Fashion No. 4" C. 1880.
The 32" walnut case has been refinished-restored, inside and out, front and back. I have never seen one restored on the back. The old finials have good tips, the center finial has been broken in the big bowl, glued back, looks fine. One small piece of the base of the finial is missing; of course I turned it to the back so you wouldn't see it. All three finials should be snuggled into the holes better. Maybe some wood putty or something. The Fashion glass is good, brass bell is shining, correct pendulum bob and stick for this model, and are also very good. The 4 hands look correct. The mechanical items inside the case are clean and functioning properly. The only problem with this clock is the dials. If you want a really nice example of this model please have the dials repainted. The gold is holding nicely in the incised designs on the board around both dials.
