The Prentiss Clock Improvement Co. New York, C. 1898. They called this model their "Mill Gallery" clock.
Anonymous (not verified)
23 October 2024
It has antique oak veneer on the door while the box underneath is cherry stained to match. The door is 18" square. They made this size to sell to mills, factories, schools, and railroads. This old clock is all original including the wood finish, paper dial, pendulum, and hands. The old paper dial has an excellent signature, same as on the first line of this write-up. The dial paper is on a metal pan, showing some minor wear around the mounting screws and edges. The movement is their 60 day model, mounted to an iron back plate. The company, this clock, and the 60 day movement, are pictured and described in Ly-American, Volume 2, page 172-176.
