there is a continuous brass trim around the edge of the case and opalescent glass buttons at the eight corners. There is a small green label on the back, two thirds intact, which lists the patent dates for the case. On the back is a paper covering the wood, with the paper label on that. The original paper dial is signed, "S. B. Jerome, Patent Lever Escapement". A brass bezel opens to access the time only winding arbor, the "fast-slow" adjustment and the hands. The brass ring around the dial has a ripple or rope design. There are several Bulletin articles about this patented case. June 1989, page 251; December 1989, page 542; October 1988, page 425.
