Harlem Inlaid Clock Manufactory, Offices No. 22 Maiden Lane, on an overpaste label, maybe over a J.C.Brown or Forestville Mfg. Co. label.

This clock could have been made by the Forestville Mfg. Co. around 1855, or the movement sold to the Harlem company and they made the clock, as it is know that they specialized in highly decorated and inlaid clocks. If we knew what label was under the overpaste label we might have an answer. This is a very fancy ironfront, the fine painting and an unusual amount of MOP that goes all around the case, all in excellent condition. The case front is formed and thinner than most with a peak and large feet. The case is 20" high and 15" wide. The original zinc dial has lost only a moderate amount of paint. Considerable information about the Harlem Inlaid Clock Manufactory company is covered in an article by Snowden Taylor, in the October 1999 NAWCC Bulletin, pages 644-645.
