Reproduction Willard's Presentation Banjo, a contemporary copy made by one of the premier clock makers in America, Wayne Cline of Bowling Green, Ky.
He is recognized everywhere by collectors of early clocks. We sell his clocks to collectors everywhere who you would not think would buy a new clock. He is the only clockmaker in America making copies of early Willard clocks. Hopefully we will be fortunate enough to offer one of his lighthouse or Diamondhead banjo clocks in one of our future auctions. This 42 inches high Presentation Banjo made of mahogany, with gilt rope trim around the hand painted panels, gilt balls on the base, brass side rails, heavy brass bezel, and large brass eagle. The signed metal dial, painted by the Dial House, bowed glass, heavy brass hardware including the pendulum tie down. The weight is a copy of the original and descends down the weight chute. The glasses depicting Perry's Victory on Lake Erie, Sept. 10, 1813, against the British war-ship, were painted by Tom Moberg. This is one of Mr. Clines latest, therefore it is mint.
