New Haven Clock Co. "Regulator No. 9" ca 1883.
Swiss Sweep Second movement has dead beat escapement and identical to other Swiss pinwheel movements we see in the large clocks. It is 8 day, one weight, perfect 12 inch porcelain dial and hands, large brass lyre pendulum with steel and brass rods designed to adjust to heat and cold and insure perfect timekeeping. It has been running here for a couple of years. Everyone who sees the clock likes it. The clock is a whopping 99 inches tall, and 32.5 inches wide. In our picture it may be difficult to see the side pieces, ornate top and base, and deep etchings all over the case. Ly-New Haven #516 says this clock is 58 inches high, 18 inches wide. That is wrong unless they also made a much smaller version of the Regulator No. 9. This walnut case is all original, has had no repairs or new pieces. The case has been cleaned of the coal smoke and has a beautiful medium walnut finish. There is glass on the sides, brass is polished. Ly-New Haven #516.
