Cottage No. 1" shelf clock.
The Sessions Clock Company in Bristol, Connecticut produced a line of clocks that they named THE COTTAGE SERIES. This was their "COTTAGE No. 1". It has a solid Oak case in MINT condition. The door glass retains its original reverse painting with a black background and gold-bordered oval "bob window" through which the brass "bob" can be seen as it swings back and forth. The paper dial is also original to the clock. A label on the back of the case is mostly preserved and identifies the model of this outstanding classical clock. The eight-day brass mechanism runs properly and strikes the hours on a melodious coil gong. With a price this low, we expect it to be on someone else's shelf or mantle before very long.
