8-day mantle clock named 'THE ARCTIC' in the Ingraham Clock Company's 'OCEAN' series.
Originally, the Ingraham Clock Company was founded by Elias Ingraham and his son Edward. In 1860 in Bristol, Connecticut they formed the E. Ingraham and Company Clock Company. Edward died in 1892 and his son Walter Ingraham became President of the company. Walter retired in 1927 and his nephew Edward Ingraham became President. It was during his presidency of the company that the OCEAN LINE series of clocks was produced. This model was named 'THE ARCTIC' and features a wonderfully intricate pattern steam embossed into the Oak case. The door glass has a fancy gold pattern and the brass movement runs the clock for 8 days...striking on the hours. Oak 'gingerbread' clocks are always very popular...especially those with the extra attraction of free-standing side arms. This one is priced 'right' for it's next owner's purchase. A most impressive clock from a renowned New England clock company. Height: 23 in. (58.42 cm) Depth: 5 in. (12.70 cm) Width: 5 in. (12.70 cm) Weight: 4
