It has an 8 day movement, time only, signed by Howard, and it is running. The very large, heavy weight is compounded inside the case with the aid of three pulleys attached in the case. The pendulum is started or stopped by a lever in the bottom. This marble case is 26 inches wide, and they called it their 24 inches dial clock. The numerals are made of wood or similar material and the minute markers are bronze. The movement for whatever reason was turned slightly in the case and the winding hole was moved one inch. Ly- Clocks, Volume 1, page 111; Ly-American Clocks No. 459; all Howard trade catalogs.
