Welch, Spring and Co. eight day "Patti V.P.", ca 1868-1864.

23 October 2024
During this period the company produced a more quality line of clocks of which the Patti was one. This clock has a glass with a mint gold leaf pattern that was only used on the earlier Patti clocks. On the back of the case is a full black and gold company label. This clock is all original, not abused at all but does show signs of being used for 140 years. Not the outside but inside where the key and/or pendulum rattled around. A little polish and it will be mint. Movement is 8 day, strikes a nickel bell hourly, running very well. The 18.5 inches case was made of polished rosewood and one look will tell you why the clock has become so collectable by those folks who appreciate fine workmanship. Ly-Welch, Page 154.
