E. Ingraham and Co. mantle clock, "Venetian", ca early 1870's.
This was their first Venetian case, many other styles and sizes followed. This clock and movement (in much better condition) are pictured on page 266, Ly-Ingraham. The 8-day time and strike movement in this model was not signed, was mounted with wood blocks, and there is a 24 hour count wheel. The 15.5 inches high rosewood case has the original finish, never cleaned therefore is very dark. The case, forgetting the grime, is in very nice condition except for the rounded front edge where some finish is worn. The old glasses both have the original putty and many of the painted designs. There are two problems, there is no label, and the local kindergarten class highlighted the numerals. If you like to restore early clocks, here is your challenge.
