English fusee bracket clock, 8 day time and strike.
This mahogany case is also 18 inches high, but has very ornate carvings rather than applied brass. Good beveled glass in the large brass sash. Original 8 inches dial is signed, "Charles Nephew and Co. London and Calcutta". The bezel lock is non functional so a small latch was installed. This case also has some splits on the top rounded section. The large back door is primarily open carved with clock backing, instead of the usual side windows. The key lock is working on this door. Extremely large solid plate movement strikes a standing gong that is huge. We are including a picture of the back to give you an idea of the large double fusee movement, pendulum bob with tie down, and the large gong. A paper label on the base reads, "Cooke and Kelvey, Watch, Clock, and Chronometer Makers, To H.E. The Viceroy and Governor General of India, Mrs Hillburn, 22-11-1904, Calcutta, Simla, and London".
