C.1905, Waltham Clock Co., Waltham, Mass, Regulator No. 13, in oak, 8-day weight driven with compensating mercurial pendulum, 3-metallic jars, polished and sealed, serial No. 2725.
Condition: the one small minus on this is that it was mounted in an office with a space restriction, and the bottom one inch of trim on both sides was cut off flat. This does NOT show when the clock is hanging, only when you inspect it from the bottom. When the consignor got the clock it had a broken mirror in the back and he replaced it..does add a great deal to the appearance of the clock. The precision movement has jeweled pallets in the dead beat escapement, beat adjustment right at the verge with double thumb screws, Graham style set up. Note when we pulled on the cable to hang the weight, the knot pulled out of the barrel (needs a bigger knot) and this will need attending before you run it [and how lucky it did not pull out before]. Exterior retains old medium oak finish with a nice sheen.. Silvered brass dial is immaculate. Original brass sheathed weight is out of view on left inside case. For reference, see Tran Ly's American Clocks, part 1, page 244. Waltham lists height at 70", now height is 68.8" [175cm]
