C.1880. E. Howard and Co., Boston, "No. 6 Regulator, Figure 8" in a walnut case, 8-day, weight driven, time only.
Condition: the bottom tablet got broken before it arrived with us, and we glued it together for the foto; it will need proper attention (Lee Davis does a great job of painting and leafing these). Case has been refinished, and there are traces of the original finish here and there that did not come off. The large rectangular movement is made to very high standards with Graham style dead beat escapement and maintaining power and is in good running order. Dial and throat tablet are original. Large iron weight is marked with "1", as the weight for 1 and 6 are interchangeable. Retains original tie down and baffle, and great original pendulum with good gilding and brushed ring pattern on the bob. With a period card glued inside door of Palmer, Bachelder and Co., No. 394 Washington St, Boston, who were probably the retailers. Height 58 inches
