C.1874, E. Howard and Co., "Regulator No. 42", black walnut, carved case timepiece, 8-day, weight, with old finish.

Condition: 8" dial is original with good signature, sides touched up at attaching holes, and some at winding hole.. The case back has a vertical split that has been reinforced from the inside [see above movement]. The front door has a dry split in the applied apron under the dial. The original tablet has lost its painted background, only the gold leaf remains, with losses. Baffle cover has been painted black. Note this case was originally made a little longer [2 inches] than a standard 42. Retains original No. 5 size movement, properly signed, and rectangular iron weight. Also lock in door is intact with original key; still has good label inside. Height 46 inches
