polychrome and gilt painted wooden dial with Arabic on chapter ring, outer minute ring marked with ticks, every 5 minutes bold, center with garter of ferns and flowers, wooden 30-hour weight driven time and strike movement, with original exterior tin can pulley covers, printed paper label on interior reading in part Modern Improved/Clocks,/Made and Sold By/Riley Whiting,/Winchester, Conn. with instructions, door with very unusual gilt and polychrome painted cityscape entitled Great Square Of Mexico, being Mexico City with large cathedral, and mounted soldier and pedestrians in foreground. Mahogany veneered and solid mahogany case with acanthus and spiral carved half columns, crest with high-relief carved spread-winged eagle, flanked by plinths, with brass ball finials, front feet are claw with acanthus knees and rear feet are turned, 5.5" 17.25" x 33" high. Condition report Refinished, slight flaking of tablet, missing escutcheon cover, currently running. We do not guarantee working order of clocks.
