Silas Hoadley Tall Case Clock,
with 30-hour time, strike and date wooden movement, painted wood dial with raised gilt false arbor holes, raised gilt scrolled spandrels and oval polychrome roses in arch marked Hoadley Plymouth with seconds dial above center and calendar dial below. Old pencil inscription on back of dial June 2 1821 A.F.. Mounted in pine mahogany grain-painted Federal style case with hinged door in bonnet with original mushroom turned knob, flanked by tapered turned columns, arched top (tin) with cut-out scrolled crest, a central plinth flanked by matching plinths and capped with reproduction brass finials; the waist with hinged door with original period brass keyhole escutcheon and applied reeded molding, base with Hepplewhite cut-out feet and matching reeded molding, 16.6" x 9.7" x 89" high. Includes original tin can weights and pendulum. Condition report Dial with slight losses and retouch, case paint is ca 98%. Not currently running.
