with original marked Seth Thomas Plymouth Ct. 8-day time and strike, weight-driven, brass movement. Painted tin dial with polychrome flower spandrels. Oversized steep form mahogany case with triangular polychrome tablet set in pediment of a Palladian building. Door with similar tablet with beehive in center and rose wreath surround with gilt inscription above By Industry We Thrive and outer geometric surround. Original cleaned finish and paper label with address No. 283 Main St. Between 5th & 6th. 14.8" high x 4" deep x 29" high. Exhibited and picture in Ohio Clock Exhibit 1810-1850 at the Warren County Historical Society, 1984; pg 17, Figs. 32-33.Ex Paul A. Heffner Collection.As above and some flaking to tablets, VG+.
