8-day time and strike, weight-driven, brass strap movement. Painted tin dial, Roman numerals, polychrome-painted roses in spandrels. Smoke-grained (brown over yellow) mahogany case, half columns in lower and upper sections with gilt bases and capitals, full turned gilt columns in center section. Gesso and wooden scroll-cut splat with gilt spread-winged eagle and smoke grained wood, flanked by gilt bulls-eye mahogany plinths. Double door with dial door over fixed middle tablet with original mirrored tablet; lower door with original polychrome-painted Greek revival house in lawn setting. Original finish and paper label. 17.5" wide x 5" deep x 37" high.Ex Paul A.
