French, S. Marti, large figural clock, black marble base with patinated spelter statue of a seated artist, and with black dial, gilt bronze applied numerals, and open escapement. C.1890 the rear threaded support for the figure has failed and the figure is a bit loose on the base (2 front ones are holding fine). Statue will be removed for shipment. The figure itself appears to have had a bronze finish at one time, now painted gold, and with wear and dirt (there are no pock marks in the metal). The movement is complete and sound and the hands and pendulum are original. Height 20 inches
