there is some paint loss around the latch area and attaching screws for the dial, and the sky area of the lower tablet has been filled in from the back. Otherwise this clock is in excellent original condition. Original hands are heavy brass, painted black. The clock was formerly in the collection of the late Lloyd Porter of Arcadia, Ca, and former visitors to his house will recall it hanging there for several decades. Note dial never had a signature that is visible; see also another Herschede banjo in todays sale; it appears that Frank Herschede bought his components from Chelsea. Ht 42"
