refinished mahogany, cross-banded case in very nice clean condition. War of 1812 tablets are replacements, very well done. Door opens with an L turn. Original painted dial is unusual with 5 minute markers has some paint loss on the edges. Signature is worn but recognizeable as "Warrented by Wm. Cummens". Dial is mounted to the head with two L turns. Alternate train movement with a T bridge suspension is mounted to the case with original through bolts [filister style]. Glass held in the bezel with two tabs. Finial is modern replacement. Moon hands are of the period, with repairs. A weight stop has been added below the mov't.
