Charles a' Paris French gilded brass figural time only spring driven mvt with figure of Rembrandt working at easel with ship's scene on canvas and Roman numeral silvered dial with subsidiary seconds at 12, c1850 sNo. 6263 the front has been cleaned and a some gilding remains; the rear of the case is dark and tarnished, the dial has a little light spotting, the painted scene is quite detailed and in very good condition. Overall condition very good+. Art and artists were popular themes for the French makers. Ht 13 1/2"
