the case was painted white and has been refinished and stained a very dark walnut color. The dial center is absent. Note this has a Seth Thomas mov't and NO extra holes; this is the 3rd one of these we have had with ST mov't and we are sure it is correct. Kroeber purchased mov'ts from more than one supplier. Ht 32"
