Rare J. C. Brown, Forrestville, Conn. mother of pearl picture frame clock. This model is not easily found and usually they are in pretty rough shape but this one is quite good. The stencil and paint decoration shows very little wear and the colors are bright. All the mother of pearl pieces are there and it still has the ivory knob. The blue and gold upper glass is fine with just a bit of background touch up. The lower glass appears to be correct and has a portrait of J. C. Brown. The dial is in great shape with a crisp signature. The label does have some torn spots. Original hands, pendulum and key. Signed 8 day ribbed movement with gong strike. Running. 17" tall.
