This is the only one we have ever seen, however there are two very similar pictured in Rick Ortenburger's book, "Black Forest Clocks", pages 71 and 73. This carved case is 29", the same as the two in the book. The old dark smoky finish is original, no attempt to clean or polish it. There is no visible damage or repairs, case appears to be complete of all its original parts, excepting perhaps repairs to bellows, movement, and that sort of thing. The spring driven movement has just been overhauled and will run about two days. It is signed, "G.G.Berger / Germany". The removable case backboard and the dial, are also stamped, "Germany". The clock is possibly ca late 1800's. I can email you pictures that you can enlarge and study the intricate carvings of the dog, bird in its nest, and other things. This is surely the nicest shelf cuckoo I have ever seen.
