This was a Pennsylvania Railroad clock. The original painted dial is signed, "592 / Penn Railroad". Excellent 31" walnut case has two correct door latches, but the bottom push button latch is missing the little ball on the end. There is old putty around the top glass, both glasses are original. It has the original hands, pendulum bob with excellent damascening, pendulum tie down, weight baffle, and an old iron weight stamped, "70". The movement is properly signed by Howard and has the No. 70 stamped also. A nice early Howard clock. Ly-American Clocks, page 123.
