Ansonia Clock Co. "Hanging Antique", ca 1904.
This is the cleanest, most original, and nicest Hanging Antique we have ever seen, or offered for sale. The quarter sawn oak case is near perfect, stands 46" high, and is clean and polished. We bought this clock with a collection of near perfect clocks from a long time collector who only bought perfect clocks. We kept it for several years because we like it, but have lately been offering it for sale because of space limitations. All the brass is polished including the original weights, cast pendulum, and all the other pieces of brass trim all over the case. The 8 day movement is running, striking a gong behind the movement. The special pendulum stick is covered with a thin skin of brass, covered with designs, and it cannot be duplicated. We have seen many Hanging Antique clocks sell for $10,000 or more, and none were as nice as this one. Ly-Ansonia, page 178-179.
