French statue clock. This is a neat statue clock.
It is a shame it is not bronze or even brass, but it is just white metal. It is now painted black all over and is standing 17.5" high. The boy sitting on the clock is holding his fishing pole, the line extending down into the pool of water below. On his hook is a copper colored, good sized fish. The pool of water is an old mirror which may not show well in the picture. Down by his right foot is his bait box. There are many more objects in the casting and the detail is good. Beveled glass in the sash, very nice one piece porcelain dial, and old hands. The dial is signed, "France". Original metal back door, 8 day time only movement signed, "A. Chelot / France / 1938". The original pendulum carries the same serial number, "1938". Good casting detail on the back as well as front and sides.
