case was originally gilded, now polished to brass. Retains original embossed and gilded cylinder platform (bat wing balance weights), with center seconds hand. Porcelain dial is signed Boyet Freres, and his town, Fluerier, all fired in and still legible; he was the retailer. Movement is signed Japy Freres, with Gold Medals for 1825 through 1845, serial No. 4337. Feet are actually cast nuts which hold the case together. There is one very fine hairline in the center of the alarm circle; otherwise dial is fine, and the hands are original. Ht 8"
