J. J. and W. Beals's, Boston, label on rare E.C. Brewster beehive, with Kirk's patent, iron back plate 8 day movement, and with original cut glass tablet, C.1844. the wooden dial is cracked and with some losses. Some of the original finish remains on the sides of the case, shellacked over; the front rounds have some veneer repairs and some losses, especially along the bottom edge. Retains a clean label, and good early "Lyre" gong base. Movement complete and sound, ticks but would benefit from service.
