Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn. 30 hour, time and strike, wood movement tall clock, c1825 Rosewood grain painted pine case in nice condition under a dark finish. Original painted dial has darkened around the outer edges over time most probably from smoke. Nice set of period hands of the type that Whiting used. Movement looks to be generally pretty clean with restoration to the calendar wheel on the dial. Proper cast iron pendulum bob and tin can weights. Our estimate reflects collector interest in original grain painting. Ht 90".
