E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., "Regulator No. 59-8" reissue, wall clock, 8 days, time only, weight driven movement in a walnut and ebonized case with bird's eye maple weight baffle, three carved lower finials and 8" painted metal dial, dated 1976

the clock is in excellent original condition. This clock was formerly from the Dana Blackwell collection. Interestingly, the movement is signed with the proper Howard logo, "EXP" for experimental, "59" for the model, "3" for serial number and "1976" for date. The rear of the dial is signed in pencil by Mr. Blackwell "Prototype Experimental, DJB". As Vice President and head of quality control, Mr. Blackwell insisted on the highest standards and this model was limited to 1000 clocks when it went to full production. This specific clock sold for $3700 plus 10% buyer's premium in our April 26th, 2008 sale. Ht 46"
