Henri Jacot, France, for Tiffany & Co., Paris, carriage clock, gilt brass Anglaise Riche variant case with beveled glasses, the rear glass with nicely engraved cipher, gilt dial mask with Arabic numeral white enamel time and alarm dials, blued steel hands

24 October 2024
Case with original gilding, dirty, and with some staining and minor losses, small spots of verdigris, would clean up well, glasses very good, dial mask and frame with toning, enamel dials very good, minute hand repaired, movement with some staining at upper right on back plate, movement running and striking, will not run a full week, would benefit from service, Ht 6 1/4" to top of handle. The clock has a two position lever at the case bottom for strike mode selection, silence and quarters. All four quarters sound, not just the usual three. We thought this may have been an error in function, but the clock strikes and repeats consistently, and so appears to be functioning as intended.
