Ansonia Clock Co., Ansonia, Conn., "Monarch", 8 day, time and strike spring brass movement shelf clock, c1880 Walnut case in nice condition in original finish with a small area of damage on the base. Dial paper has been replaced. Hands have been replaced. Bell is a replacement. The two handles on the top finial have been restored. The glass in the door is clear, but the illustration in the catalog shows a decorative design on the glass. The pendulum included is rather nice, but has been modified and may not be original as the catalog shows a double tube type pendulum. A piece of the wood knob on the drawer is broken off. Interesting label on the back of the case. Ht 24 1/2"
