Hills, Goodrich & Co., Plainville, Conn., or Joseph Ives, 8 day, time and strike, O.G. column shelf clock with an Ives' cast iron back plate brass movement, c1842
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
Mahogany veneered case in original finish with a small veneer repair on the bottom OG molding, and on the bottom case corners. Gilt columns and splat with some wear to the gilding on the leaf splat and some gold paint to repair some loss on the gilt columns. Original painted dial with scattered minor loss. Hands are not typical, but look to be original. Tablet glass is old, but is not original. Doesn't look like a clock tablet, perhaps from a mirror or other decorative item. The person who owned this clock in 1899 glued some pages from the Commercial Farmer and Villager from Bangor, Maine over the original label. Proper weights are included. Ht 30"
