Silas Terry, Plymouth, Conn., Empire shelf clock, 8 days, time and strike, weight driven movement in a mahogany case with carved splat and full turned columns, painted wooden dial and reverse painted tablet, with movement by another Conn firm, c1845
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
the case retains an old finish with later additions to left and right of backboard and glue repair to top right molding. The dial and original tablet have minor flaking. We do have two clocks in this sale with the round front plate Terry movement, however, this movement was made by Seymour, Williams & Porter, Farmington, Conn.. SW&P used a similar design to Terry, but SB Terry's movements have a totally different curved brass bridge (almost like a semi-circle) to hold the verge, while SW&P used wire (as in this movement).
