Mitchell & Atkins, Bristol, Conn., 8 days, time and strike, weight brass Salem Bridge movement double decker shelf clock, c1835 the label inside the case would indicate this was a wood movement clock, but in fact has a Salem Bridge movement and we have seen another example. The movement does appear original to the case. Mahogany veneered case in original finish with a couple of minor age cracks in the veneer. The right bottom faux grained column will need some repair. The left foot is damaged, but can be restored with the intact right foot as a model. Small mirror in the center is broken. Original wood dial with minor loss to the gilt chapter ring. Bottom tablet is original. Hands are original. Ht 32"
