Isaac Blaisdell was born in Amesbury, Mass in 1738, worked in Chester, NH 1762 - 91. Isaac was son of early Amesbury clockmaker David Blaisdell. Blaisdell movements were copied from French lantern clocks. Chapter ring and spandrels are pewter. A summary-history of the Blaisdell family by Shaffer is pasted inside the door. When we picked up the clock, the pendulum bob and rating assembly were in the base of the case, however the rod and suspension spring were absent; both of these are available from parts suppliers. Movement is clean and rope is new; wants to run. Ht 89"
