Simon Willard, Roxbury, Mass., 8 days, weight, T-bridge, step train, dead beat escapement brass movement mahogany banded case patent or banjo timepiece, c1805. Throat door held onto the case with four screws. Dial fastened with two L-turns. Rabbeted

Partially refinished mahogany and mahogany veneered case with inlay in nice condition with a small wood piece missing on the left side of the throat frame. Original painted iron dial with wear to the numbers. Original hands with an hour hand of interesting design. The bottom tablet now cracked, is most likely original with repair dates back to 1858. The throat glass now cracked, also looks to be original. The movement had through bolts now missing. Finial is period. The top plinth maybe replacement. The clock probably had a bottom bracket as evidenced by two screw holes in the bottom board. Ht 34.5"
