The case is inscribed on the back: "Made by George F. Ford for a Silas Hoadley time-piece and alarm movement". [The late George Ford of New York state was a Hoadley descendant and collected and studied Hoadley clocks.] This clock has a good copy of a Hoadley alarm timepiece case of the 1835 period. Some old wood and case parts were used and some parts are new. The movement is missing the alarm train and alarm bell. The dial, while resembling a Hoadley dial, is new and the hands are new copies. The door appears to have been made from a period door which was extended in length, The mirror and upper glass are old. Ht 23 1/4".
