Seth Thomas Clock Co., Plymouth Hollow, Conn., 30 hours, time and strike, weight driven wood movement pillar & scroll shelf clock with alterations, c1830 Refinished mahogany veneered case in an old finish with veneer repairs on the bottom corners of the door. Skirt and feet have been replaced. Scroll tips have been restored and are not the correct form. Movement is not a Thomas, but a Riley Whiting. Dial is not original as from a later c1830's clock. Tablet is a repaint. The backboard with the Seth Thomas label may have been fitted to this case as it has a later S. T. label. The metal dust cover on the back of the case is replaced. However, a plus is it has a nice set of period Seth Thomas finials. Ht 29"
