E. Howard & Co., Boston, Mass., "Marble Dial No. 20" wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement with maintaining power in white painted wood case with 24 inch white marble dial, black painted chapter ring and Roman numerals with red arabic five

The thick marble dial is in very good condition with no major breaks and very few edge chips. Some of the paint on the dial has been touched up, especially the red minute markers, but most appears original. The painted wood box looks old and correct and was reglued on the left side at one point. There is some excess glue visible from the inside. The weight is the correct rectangular type. The hands and pendulum look correct too compared to other examples of this model that have sold at auction. The robust Howard movement is signed and complete with its stop works. The cable has been replaced with braided nylon cord. The top of pendulum stick has a small splint glued on to repair a split. The movement runs briskly, but was not tested long term. This clock is very heavy and fragile and this should be noted if it is to be shipped.
